Dive deep into the Sahara Desert on a 3-day trip from Marrakech to Fes with accommodation included. Immerse yourself in the local culture and scenery as you visit quaint villages, spend a night in the desert, and embark on a camel trek through the dunes.
Your unforgettable Marrakech to Fes desert tour begins at 7:15 a.m. when our guide picks you up from your Marrakech hotel. Traveling in a modern, air-conditioned minibus, you’ll cross the stunning Atlas Mountains before arriving at the iconic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore this ancient walled city, renowned for its six kasbahs and rich history. Step back in time to a world of gladiators, nomads, and bustling trade routes. Following a guided tour, enjoy a delicious lunch within the kasbah.
Next, we journey to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Desert” and a favorite filming location for movies like The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. After a brief café stop, the journey continues to the breathtaking Dades Valley, where you’ll relax in a private guesthouse with an en-suite bathroom and savor a traditional Moroccan dinner.
Day two of the Marrakech to Fes desert adventure brings you to the awe-inspiring Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon with towering cliffs and well-maintained paths. Enjoy the dramatic scenery, spot rock climbers scaling the cliffs, and take in the occasional flooding of the Dades River.
After lunch at one of the many local cafes, the journey continues to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, the adventure intensifies with a camel trek through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Experience the magic of the desert as you ride or walk alongside your guide, immersing yourself in the serene beauty of the Sahara.
Your evening unfolds in a Berber desert camp, where traditional tents provide a cozy retreat under the starlit sky. Relish an authentic Moroccan dinner while the soothing beats of Berber drums create an unforgettable atmosphere.
On the final day of the Marrakech to Fes Sahara tour, enjoy a camel ride back to Merzouga before departing for Fes. The route takes you through the Ziz Valley, a lush oasis with towering palm trees, dramatic gorges, and stunning desert landscapes.
A highlight of the day is a visit to Ifrane, famously known as “Little Switzerland” due to its alpine-style architecture and snowy winters. Depending on the schedule, you may enjoy lunch here or stop at another scenic spot along the way.
The tour concludes as you arrive in the vibrant city of Fes around 5:00–6:00 p.m., where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or riad, marking the end of your incredible journey.
